“When I imagine the daily hustle and bustle; the coming and going of people, the work in the offices, recreation rooms, training centres, laboratories and workshops of the Noi Techpark Bolzano, the result for me is an organic network structure. Based on the image of a larch tree, the wall drawing depicts this interconnected structure. The drawing does not depict the larch tree as an image, as a recognisable tree, but rather refers to scientific representations of plants and shows a microscopic view: Beginning with the seeds, Becoming, Growing and Decay. The drawing Life Cycles depicts the annual cycle, the germination and blossoming in spring, the green needles in summer, the orange of autumn and the standstill in winter. The wall design shows the interrelationships in the growth of a plant. It co-operates with other plants. It is embedded in a structure of (food) exchange. Entirely in keeping with the idea of the Noi Techpark Bozen: an organic, interwoven structure, a piece of forest, a coherent, functioning (eco)system.”
Gabriela Oberkofler
My sincere thanks go to the Habitat company, in particular Paolo Tosolini, for financing the artwork. I would also like to thank Uli Stofner and Birgit Mayr for their openness and expertise.
